A relatively early morning as we had an 2 hour drive to Gold Reef City, and we wanted to be there when they opened at 9:00. We were 23 minutes late, but luckily it was still fairly empty and we did not have to wait long to get into the theme park.
The girls loved it! And as we started early, we got to go on a lot of rides. These included: Run away Train, Raging Rapids, Golden Loop, Gaint Wheel, Bumper Cars, The Jozi Express, Conga Queen, Flying Mavericks, Swing carousel, Tornado, Jozi Gold Theatre Movie, Anaconda, The Run away Train (Again) and The Jozi Express (Again)! The girls were awesome with all rides... Think we are raising 2 little adrenaline junkies - Just like their mom!
Eventually we were done, so had an ice cream to celebrate and headed back to Holly and Suna’s. On the way we stopped at the butchers to get a selection of meats for the braai. Including a Tomahawk steak, which had Mish super excited!!!
We had an awesome braai, and watched the rugby, as SA springboks were playing the All blacks. It also got better! As it is Mish’s birthday next month, and we will be travelling the girls decided that it would be the perfect time to give him his b’day present: an SA rugby T-shirt. It was perfectly timed for the game, which lead to a huge win over the All Blacks! Of course, as per African rules we had to drink a ‘springbokkie’ shot (Peppermint liqueur and Amarula) for every try! In the end the girls went to bed way past their bedtime, and the adults stayed up to the wee hours just talking and enjoying friends and fantastic company.
