South Africa - 21 August 2023

Leisurely start to the day this morning, including tea and coffee in bed whilst the girls were learning how to do sudoku with their Wawa.  Eventually we all got up and it was too late for breakfast, so we went with brunch instead. Bacon, eggs, toast, avocado and fried tomatoes!

Afterwards we loaded up the Toyota Fortuna and took off on a self drive safari through Dinokeng game reserve.  The roads were so windy and bumpy, so we had no option but to drive slowly.  Along the way we saw some impalas, zebras, warthogs, wildebeest, buffalo, and one kudu.

Back at base camp, we did not have to wait long for Robyn’s friend Ronel and her 4 kids.  The girls were ecstatic to have another set of kids to play with for the next few days.  It was fun chaos with the kids running around, playing games, swimming and just having a blast.

Eventually we feed everybody a huge amount of spaghetti bolognaise, and slowly got the kids to bed.  It was a bit of mission to herd the children into bed and to get them to sleep.  The adults then relaxed with a few drinks and a lekker old kuier.
