A travel day today, Kuala Lumpur to Taman Negala National Park, in the rainforest. We got on a crowded minivan after a 20 minute breakfast, we were the last to board. On the three hour journey I had a nap and mommy and Harriette had to stop one of our suitcases, falling on top of my legs. They found a solution by putting a suitcase on the aisle in between the chairs. It was a bumpy ride. Tati sat next to the driver and Harriette, read her Kindle all the way.

When we reached a part of a river we had to get off the minivan to catch a boat to the island across the river. We had to separate into two groups (The people from the minivan had to split including us.) to take the boat.  The boat was too small for all of us to fit on. On the island, we put our luggage into a little trolley for the people to haul up the hill so we did not have to carry it up.

The reception people said our room wouldn’t be ready until the next hour. So we wondered around to see what was around us and we found a hut where we read for a while.

We went back to reception after an hour and they said it wouldn’t be ready till the next hour. It was very annoying. For we were not meant to arrive until after 12 o’clock so we didn’t have lunch booked today. Fortunately, when we came across the river, we saw some floating restaurants and we decided to go to one of them. We caught a boat across and asked the boat driver which restaurant was the best. He pointed one out and we decided to go there.

After lunch, we went back got the keys to our room and chilled out.  Before dinner, we went on a path through the jungle.  It was call the swamp loop, but we could not see any swamps, only boardwalk and rainforest all around.

Once we had dinner, we headed to the reception which is where someone told us that was where you met to go on tours. Our tour was a one hour night walk to see some amazing wildlife. Our guide told us that our focus would be on insects. He spotted amazing creatures that I didn’t even notice. I wonder how he did that, practice I assume.  We saw some stick insects.  The female eats the males after they have babies.  A weaver spider that can feed its legs to their children and then regrow them.  A VERY long snake in the trees, glow in the dark scorpions and some gigantic soldier ants! They were nearly an inch long.

After the walk it was almost 10pm, and past our bed time. Good thing we had a nap in the bungalow in the afternoon.
