Finally we got to catch up some sleep today, and only got up at after 7 (Late for the Wozny Clan). So after breakfast we caught our ride to the Kuang Si waterfalls. Parked and transferred to a mini electric golf cart up the mountain, and then a slow walk up through the jungle to see the main waterfall - absolutely spectacular!
Followed the water downstream, enjoying all the little waterfalls and pools formed along the route, until we got to an area where swimming is allowed.
So obviously we had to jump in! And we literally jumped in!
The water was cold and refreshing! The one thing that Mish struggled with, were the little fishing that took a huge liking to his feet and they kept on nibbling his feet whenever he kept still for more than a few seconds. The water was glorious, and once the kids had jumped from the dive board tree, it was again, again, again please!
Eventually we got out of the water and slowly walked back to our vehicle, seeing the rescued black (moon and sun) bears. They were surprisingly small, and so chillaxed! On the way back to the Luang Prabang, we also stopped by to feed some Indian elephants, and of course we discussed the differences between African and Indian/Asian elephants. The girls are unsurprisingly pretty up to date with their facts - thanks grandparents!
Once we got back into the city, we visited a living craft centre, Ock Pop Tok. At the centre they make & dye their own material (mainly cotton), design their own patterns and make the designed textiles. We walked through the process and saw their finished products.
For lunch, we decided to go back to yesterday's restaurant as we enjoyed it so much! With full bellies we headed back to the hotel to get some schooling done.
Later in the afternoon we headed out to the riverside to find a café and watch the river flow past before heading back to the night market for dinner. It was another round of yummy dishes for all of us. We also got some little souvenirs from the market as Laos is worth the memories!
