Today we visited TeamLab - An art immersion museum. We had to walk through the whole thing, barefoot!  There were some artwork displays, and they were all sensory experience based, and very cool! First, there was a waterfall, you’ve got to walk through the running water, and at the top, there was a column of water with the light shining on it to make it glisten and shine. Next there was a room full of beanbags (wall to wall, and up the walls too) with fabric on top of them to make you sink. After that there was there was a crystal emersion room, it was full of LED light strings coming off the ceiling, and the walls ceiling and floor were all covered in mirrors to make it seem like it went on forever.

Then there was a lovely room, full of milky coloured water with projectors that made it seem like there was fishes and cherry blossoms on top of the water, we took a lot of photos.

There was a big room full of massive blow up balls that change colour using LED lights. You got to move them around and take pictures by the changing coloured light up balls.

Next was a very exciting one, we got to go in a huge dome, covered entirely by a big green screen, the floor was covered in mirrors. When the green screen changed flower videos to show the lives of flowers throughout the year.

Then we went back to the lockers, and had a quick snack before heading into the next part. We put on some grey slippers and took an umbrella outside into a Moss garden. There was Moss and grass on the floor and large metal egg-shaped sculptures on top. After that was the most exciting part of all, we went into a big square room, covered in flowers, mostly orchids, hanging from the top on rotating circles, that could also go up and down. We took some epic pictures in here.

Today we went to team lab it was a type of museum. First we went to the water section. In this section there was a part where we went into a pond of water with a waterfall at the end.

Then there was a room to dry your feet. After that, there was a room of beanbags covered in material. It was very squidgy and I fell over when I didn’t want to because my feet feet sagged into the beanbags.

The room of crystals had mirrors on the walls, floor and ceiling and there were colour changing crystals hanging everywhere.

The fourth room was water again. The waster was milky and reflected cherry blossoms and fishes moving across the water.

Next we went into a room of balls. The balls also changed colour, it was very bouncy. I thoroughly enjoyed this with my family, and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Parents

A difficult start this morning, with heavy rain outside, and 2 girls who slept well past 8am. Mish, being our provider, ventured out to find some breakfast to bring home, which he delivered with yummy bakery goods.   Rain changed plans of heading to TeamLabs by public transportation and necessitated finding a Taxi instead (first tried Uber but there were non available!!!).  After a bit of miscommunication with the taxi driver, she finally got us to the right place, just in the nick of time.

After the TeamLabs experience, and we all agree it was a very cool experience, we met up with Mish’s University friend Hiroshi and his family.  They took us first to the “new” fish market and to phenomenal sushi restaurant.  Very traditional sushi with lots of tuna and salmon.  Mish got the fancy platter with a range of different types including sea urchin!

After visiting the fish market we all headed to the Tokyo Skytree, the highest structure in Japan (634m) and the 3rd tallest in world.  Apparently it also has one of the world’s fastest elevators (600m/min), and ear popping experience! Even with the cloudy/rainy weather the views were magnificent!  The girls were even brave enough to stand on the glass floor, without flinching at all.

After a long and exciting day, walked around 10km again, still pretty jet-lagged, we headed home from the SkyTree for an early night.  Along the way we found some beautifully lit cherry blossom trees and stopped by a market for some snacks, as the girls seem to be ALWAYS hungry.  Tomorrow we are heading off to Hiroshima!
